Vacation 2007

Well, we're back from our vacation down the shore! We spent a week in Seaside Park, NJ (Right next to Sleazeside) with Grandma and Pop-pop, in a condo that was half a block to the beach! We had such a good time playing in the sand and the water! Nicholas was afraid of the water, initially, but after a day at the bay and some gentle prodding he finally started jumping waves and enjoying himself!! Our first couple of days there were marred by some thunder and lightning but nothing major. We spent just about every day at the beach, whether it was the ocean or the bay, and our nights were filled with the boardwalk, Jenks, dinners out or just hanging in!
Once Nicholas got the hang of it, he started jumping waves like a pro with Pop-pop and Daddy's help! He would walk away from the water and then immediately ask to go back! We would've brought him all the way in but the waves were just too rough!!
On Tuesday, we went to visit Aunt Jen and Uncle Geoff and Tommy who are just minutes from Seaside Park. We went to the Aquarium at Jenks and then had a bbq with some other friends of ours, Carmen, Chris and their little girl Samantha. It was a very nice time and we had an opportunity to take a few shots of Tommy and Addie in their bumbos and "enjoying" the Aquarium.
Last night we went out to dinner at Bum Roger's where the food was pretty good but the service was not so much.....definitely recommend them for TAKE OUT, crabs, especially, according to the crab expert- Grandma! After dinner we went over to Point Pleasant and the boardwalk where Nicholas LOVED the rides and amusements! We didn't play any games this time although Mommy and Daddy took him to the Seaside boardwalk earlier in the week where he won a Big Bird with Daddy's help! Nicholas especially loved the Ferris Wheel and the Crazy Bus!
All in all the week was a lot of fun and it really was sad to leave! There's a part of us that wouldn't mind living down there and being just minutes from the beach all of the time. But for now, we'll stick to the mountains....who knows what this next year will bring....permanent beach residence maybe?? ;)
