Happy 70th Birthday Grandpa!

Tonight we celebrated Grandpa Stella's 70th birthday.  We all went out to dinner with Grandpa, Aunt Liz and Sue.  We had a lovely meal and the kids got to spend lots of quality time with grandpa and Aunt Liz.  The food was delicious and Aunt Liz brought an awesome cake and some yummy cupcakes for Nicholas and Addison to enjoy!
Happy Birthday Grandpa!  We Love You!

Happy Brrrr Birthday!

After a semi-busy morning today, Nicholas, Addison and I headed down to Annandale to celebrate my grandpa's birthday.  We spent the chilly day inside and outside with our family.  The kids had a great time running around, playing with their cousins and great uncles.  The day was windy and cold but we had plenty of food and company to keep us warm!!

Two Wheeling Fun

Well, Spring Break is over.  Sadly.
On the positive side, we are that much closer to June!! (Can you tell it's been a long year....?!)
My last day of "freedom" was spent at grandma and pop-pop's house with Aunt Jessica and Grandma and Pop-pop, of course!
We spent the afternoon listening to music, playing and heading outside to ride bikes.  Nicholas, and Addison, both wanted to try (at my suggestion) riding their bikes with no training wheels.  Addie's bike is at our house and she has a Dora big wheel at grandma's.  Nicholas has a bike at grandma's so we used that one to start our two wheel training on!!  The kids both did pretty well on two wheels.  We do have a lot of work to do on balance but they both did great and I'm glad we're moving towards two wheels!!

Spring Sprinklers

We had to take advantage of the warm weather today!
After I picked up the kids at school we came home and quickly changed into bathing suits and headed outside.  Once outside, we pulled out the sprinkler and hooked that bad boy up and started running!!
The kids had a GREAT time running through water and playing with each other.  Once it became too chilly to run in the water, we took out some blocks and chalk and played in the driveway for a bit.
We're hoping the warm- not too warm- weather sticks around for awhile!!

Three is Thrilling!

As you know, Addison turned 3 on March 20th!  Well, yesterday she had her 3 year old check-up and luckily we escaped without having to get any shots! (We do have to have some blood tests done but we can deal with that later!!)

Her check up with our wonderful Dr. Julie went GREAT!  Addie had her first turn at doing the eye chart and she did awesome with her big brother covering one eye while she named what was on the chart.  Then we checked her height- 36.5 inches- and her weight- 36 pounds- and found that she is in the 50th percentile for height and the 75th for weight.  Her gross and fine motor skills are equal to those of a four year old and her speech is ahead of most 3 year olds!

We were quite happy with the appointment and Addison was even more thrilled that she didn't have to get a shot but she still got a sticker!!

Happy Easter

Happy Easter everyone!
We hope that everyone had a wonderfully Blessed day filled with lots of sunshine, happiness, good food and many blessings!  I know we did!!
Nicholas and Addison woke up this morning and we headed downstairs to see if the Easter Bunny had come and filled baskets and hidden eggs.
Surprise, surprise, he did!!
We went through baskets and then searched for hidden eggs both inside and outside the house.  The kids had a great time hunting and then sorting through all their candy and special surprises.
Once we were done with baskets and eggs we got dressed and headed out for grandma and pop-pop's where we spend the rest of the day while Daddy went to work.  After church the afternoon was spent with grandma, pop-pop, Aunt Jessica and our friend Amy.  We ate and enjoyed more egg hunting and hanging out and just enjoying the beautiful holiday!!
We hope that every had just as nice of a day as we did!
Happy Easter!

Happy Easter!

HOLY MOLY What a busy Holy Saturday!

After a lovely Good Friday spent at home, we spent Holy Saturday out and about and quite busy!!
Our day started off on the Easter Bunny Express with my friend Holly and her little guy Logan.  We met up at the Whippany Rail Museum and, after taking a few pictures of the Big Bunny, we boarded the train for our ride.  The ride is about 45 minutes long and the kids had a GREAT time riding the train and taking a look at everything going by outside the windows.  The highlight of the trip is when the Easter Bunny makes an appearance and stops to say hello to each and every passenger!!  Addison wanted no part of this but Nicholas, despite what the picture shows, really enjoyed the Bunny and getting to meet him!!

 Our Crew

Seriously...he really did like the bunny!

FINALLY smiling!

*****
After the bunny train we headed over to grandma and pop-pop's house for our traditional Holy Saturday events- Egg dying, calzone making and ravioli prep!!
Nicholas and Addison enjoyed spending the afternoon dying the eggs for the bunny to hide at grandma's house.  Once we finished that, all of us enjoyed some yummy homemade pizza and calzones!
Just before we left Nicholas and Addison helped grandma make the ravioli for Easter Sunday!
