Imagine That!!

Well, the weather really didn't hold out for today, it rained off and on for most of the day and it just wasn't a good day to be outside! Instead of staying home and being bored we went down to see grandma and Pop-pop and they took the kids and I to Imagine That! a children's museum in Florham Park, NJ.

Imagine That! is a completely hands on children's museum where the kids are able to test out and touch everything. They even have a room for art work and design as well as making music. It was a great way to spend a rainy afternoon and it was also an excellent way to tire out two high energy kids!

Nicholas and Addison had a great time running from room to room and exhibit to exhibit. They played music on different instruments from all over the world and then checked out the train set that was kid controlled. After the trains they moved into the dance studio, then the doctor and dentist's office and then on to the plane and car and fire engine! The fun was endless and the kids did not want to leave. Definitely an awesome way to spend a rainy day! Thanks Grandma and Pop-pop!!

Mr. Ray Rocked!!

Today, we woke up with every intention of cleaning and relaxing around the house. I even turned down an invitation to head down the shore and see Aunt Jen and Tommy. We got some cleaning done and I could see that the predicted rain was not going to be coming any time soon so I started looking for things to do!! Luckily, my friend Rachel gave me a tip about a concert happening in Morristown this afternoon.

The kids and I headed to Morristown to see Mr. Ray and it was AWESOME! We got there early enough that we had a front row seat and the kids could run around and play for a bit. They even got to meet Mr. Ray coming out of his sound check, although we didn't snap a picture. Once the show started, I couldn't get Nicholas to sit down! He had such a good time singing and dancing and enjoying the all kid mosh pit! Addison liked the music, as well, and even did a little dancing.

I'm not really one for kids' music, as a matter of fact we really don't have any kids' CDs. Nicholas and Addison listen mainly to stuff I have on my iPod so it's a lot of the Grateful Dead, Springsteen and Stevie Wonder. But we will DEFINITELY be listening to Mr. Ray! Not only did he do kids' music but he also covered a bunch of songs that the adults ended up loving! I highly recommend Mr. Ray to anyone who wants their kids to listen to good music that helps them learn!!

Waiting on Mr. Ray from their front row seats!

Happy Birthday "TWO" Addison

This past Friday Addison Hilda turned 2!!
Friday night we celebrated quietly at home, just the four of us. We had some cupcakes and sang to Addie.
Sunday was the big celebration for our birthday girl! We had a bunch of our friends and family over to celebrate. We enjoyed yummy food from Grandpa's restaurant and lots of fun company!

Sundays in the Park

After what amounted to either a VERY late night or a SUPER early morning, I came home and promptly crashed into bed while Pat got the kids breakfast and kept them entertained. Pat headed into work at the restaurant this afternoon and the kids and I decided to take advantage of the gorgeous day outside.
We headed over to the park, where we haven't been in quite a few months thanks to the snow and cold, and spent a good chunk of the afternoon sliding, swinging and running! Nicholas and Addison had a great time playing with the other kids that were out and enjoying the sun and warming weather. The fresh air helped to wake me up a bit more, as well!
Luckily, I still had my camera in the car from yesterday and I was able to capture the fun of the afternoon!!
