Cousin Fun

We had such a nice day today!
The kids and I headed out early this morning to get the car serviced and ready for our vacation. After that we ran an errand or two and then headed to meet my friend Heather for lunch.
We had a really nice lunch and then took Heather vacation shopping with us. It was fun!!
We were heading home and I decided that we were going to stop in and see Daddy at work so I plugged Daddy's work into our GPS. The GPS took us right by Uncle Matt and Aunt Cindy's house!!
They were outside playing and we stopped in for what I said was going to be a short visit.
We stayed for 2 hours and boy did the kids have fun!??!
Nicholas and Addison ADORED the trampoline and were dying to jump in the pool! They had ice pops and got to run around and spend the entire afternoon with their cousins! It was so nice and I'm so glad that we drove by and stopped in!
We're definitely doing it again...that trampoline tired the kids out like nobody's business!!

Wedded Bliss

We headed down the shore yesterday for a wedding!
Our friends, Sue and Noah, tied the knot in a beautiful, but hot, outside ceremony yesterday. The day was really pretty, except for the unfortunate turning on of the sprinklers during the beginning of the ceremony! Luckily, the bride hadn't made her way down the aisle just yet.
After the ceremony we enjoyed a fabulous cocktail hour and a great reception! It was a lot of fun to be out for the evening and celebrate this beautiful day with our friends!

We spent part of the day at Uncle Geoff and Aunt Jen's house.
They helped to "dress" us. Pat, more literally, than me!
This was Pat's first outfit choice! Uncle Geoff had something to say about that!

Out and About

We headed out and about today!
We hit the farmers' market and ran into an old friend.
We spent the afternoon at grandma and pop-pop's.
We put together Nicholas' new bike and we even road tested it!!

In preparation for the beach, Grandma bought us a GIANT tote bag to haul all our stuff to and from the sand each day. It was so big we could actually fit BOTH kids in it!
I could only get a shot of Nicholas.

So, I took a video but did not realize that I would not be able to rotate it.
Oh, well! Here it is...Enjoy!

Weekend Wrapup

We've had a fun weekend these past few days!
After the beach on Friday we hung out at Pat's softball game.
Saturday, the kids and I, along with grandma went in search of a bike for Nicholas and then welcomed Pop-pop home from West Virginia. We also spent time with Aunt Jessica.
Tonight we spent the evening with friends at a BBQ.
It was such a nice weekend and tonight just ended it perfectly!!

Beach Playgroup

We took to the sand yesterday and headed down to visit Aunt Jen and Tommy. We spent the day at the beach and had a really good time! I forgot my camera in the car...I know that's shocking...so I had to lift these pictures off Aunt Jen and Uncle Geoff's blog!

Nicholas and Addison were not fans of the water and Addie was not a huge sand fan, either! But putting all "fears" aside I think they enjoyed themselves and had a great time playing with Tommy and another little boy who was on the beach!! I'm sure we'll be back VERY soon!!

Helmet Head

We headed outside after dinner tonight, as we almost always do, and Nicholas wanted to play baseball. He and Daddy went in search of the ball since it has been missing for a good week, now! Instead of finding the ball they found Daddy's motorcycle helmet!
The motorcycle has been gone for months, now, but the helmet still resides in our garage.
It worked out perfectly because Nicholas' bike helmet is at grandma and pop-pop's house.
How could I resist taking pictures of this!??!
And Addie even got in on the act!!

Parktacular!

(I know that's not a real word!)

Pat had two days off this week because he worked the entire Fourth of July weekend so we took advantage of his time home and enjoyed some family time! Yesterday we cleaned the house and stayed in for most of the day. Today, Pat took Nicholas for bagels and we had a nice breakfast together. Then after Addison woke up from her nap we took to the streets and ran a few errands!
After finishing our errands we grabbed the kids some lunch and headed to the park for part of the afternoon. The kids enjoyed running around and playing with Daddy on the slide and the swings. Nicholas even showed off his big boy swinging skills! We didn't stay out too long, the heat and the humidity were kind of nasty! We came back home and rounded out the afternoon with another nap for Addison and some movie time for Nicholas!
Really a nice Summer day!

15 Month Check Up

Last month Addison Hilda turned 15 months old! Today, I took her in to see the doctor for her check up. She did quite well and has come quite a long way!
She currently weighs 23.6 pounds which puts her in the 60th percentile for weight.
She is 30 and 3/4 inches tall placing her in the 50th percentile for height!
And her head, holding all those brains, is 19 inches which puts her in 90th percentile for her head!
She did great when Dr. Julie came in and even started counting and saying some of her favorite words like 'no'. Dr. Julie was really happy with how far she's come and so are we! We can't believe how big our little preemie has gotten!!
We rounded off of our visit with one shot, her MMR vaccine. We'll be back in two weeks to finish up her 15 month shots- I probably won't take pictures of that event! :)

Enjoying some Animal Crackers while we wait

"I just want to eat my cookies in peace!!"

That's her belly

And her nose
(Be glad she used her pointer finger today, usually it's a different, more expressive one!)

"If I'm going to have to wait this long I'm going to start breaking stuff!"
(Dr. Julie walked in just as this picture was being taken!)

Happy Fourth of July!

Happy Fourth of July!
We had a nice day yesterday. We headed down to Grandma and Pop-pop's to see the parade and have a nice bbq.
We opted out of skipping the fireworks due to rain and bugs, although Pat and I did see some on the way home from the highway!

The first round of firetrucks...there were at least 5 or 6 different departments in the parade!

This was pretty cool...the car could drive in circles...a steering wheel on each end!

Space Farms

Since the nature of Pat's job requires that he work most weekends we have to take advantage of his weekday days off. Today was one of those days off!
We decided to take the kids to Space Farms zoo and Museum in Beemerville. It's a small zoo that Nicholas had been to before and we decided it would make a nice and easy outing for the late morning into the afternoon.
Nicholas got to feed some of the animals and we were able to tired him out by having him walk the entire zoo! Addison was quite content to view the animals and zoo from the comfort of her stroller!
