Garage Sale

Well, we rose quite early this morning, 5:30 to be exact, and headed down the shore!
We had loaded the van last night and it was full to the top. There was not a single free space in there! Luckily, by the time we got to Uncle Geoff and Aunt Jen's house it had already rained and we were able to set up "shop" pretty quickly and easily!
We unloaded the car and within minutes we had customers! We had a few moments of downtime during the day but overall we had a pretty steady customer flow. We made it to about 1:30 before the rain came back and disturbed us. It was ok, we had sold quite a bit of stuff and it was time for lunch, anyway!
Pat, the kids, and I got rid of quite a bit of our "junk" and came back with an almost empty car and pretty full pockets!!
In addition to all of the selling we got to spend the day with Aunt Jen, her mom Millie, and a few friends. Uncle Geoff was on call but did manage to come home for a bit and eat with us and help us clean up. He also took Nicholas on a tour of his supervisor truck and even took him for a ride! I think that was the highlight of Nicholas' day!!

Nicholas showing Uncle Geoff how to access Noggin on his in truck laptop

Tommy- he was our manager for the day- he brought in all the customers!

He even got to run the lights!

Tommy enjoying watching all of our stuff walk away with new owners!

We got very pictures of the actual garage sale because I forgot I had the camera until it was time for Nicholas to test out the paramedic truck. That was right around the same time that the rain started and lunch came out! I would have liked to have taken a before and after shot because it was a wonderful sight to see all of our stuff disappear!!
Thanks for a great day Aunt Jen & Tommy....and Uncle Geoff, too!

Weekly Winners

During the week we're pretty busy, especially during this time of year. I've been working a lot with all of the end of the year activities. Pat's been working a lot with the holiday just having passed and he's been playing softball, too. But we have managed to enjoy some family time and snap a few shots during this short week!
Tomorrow we're headed down the shore to Uncle Geoff and Aunt Jen's house for a garage sale. Hopefully, we'll be able to get rid of some of our "junk" and clean house a bit!!

Nicholas found our wedding album the other night and I found him on the floor going through it page by page, picture by picture. He would point to and name each person that he knew and the ones he didn't he would call 'nobody'. Pat decided this was unacceptable and laid down and started teaching him everyone's names. It was quite cute!

Tonight, after Pat and the kids picked me up at the movies- I saw "Se* and the City" with a friend after work- we went to Pat's softball game. We dropped off Pat and then headed through the McDonald's drive thru for a dinner treat!
Nicholas enjoying his milkshake and Addison trying to choose between a cheeseburger or a chicken McNugget.

She went for the nugget!
That was after she had consumed 3/4 of the cheeseburger!

In the field

In the field, again...it's quite difficult to take good shots while trying to make sure your children don't get slammed by random fly balls!

In case you were wondering, Pat's team lost.

Have a Great Weekend!

MDW 2008- The End

Well, today ended our long weekend and ended the official kick off to Summer. Memorial Day 2008 is just about over and we really have had a fabulous weekend. We rounded off our holiday today by spending the afternoon at grandma and pop-pop's house. We had a nice bbq and some outside time and Nicholas even got to help grandma plant some tomato plants! It was a gorgeous day out and the perfect way to end a really great long weekend!

MDW 2008 Continues

Our Memorial Day Weekend continued with a BBQ with friends at our house yesterday. It was really a wonderful time full of lots of food, fun and friendship. The kids enjoyed themselves in the pool for part of the day and then even went out on a walk with the men. There were quite a few games of washers which is like horseshoes except with washers. It was fun! As the day wound down into the evening we gathered around the fire, made some s'mores and enjoyed more of each other's company.
It was really a nice day and a great way to welcome in Summer. We are very lucky to have the friends we have as well as the freedom we enjoy each day. While we may celebrate with BBQs and parties all weekend, it is important to stop and remember the reason for this weekend and this holiday. We are grateful to all who serve and who have served our country and given their lives, both literally and figuratively, to protect the freedoms we hold so dear!
Happy Memorial Day!

MDW 2008

It's time to start Summer!
We started our Memorial Day Weekend on Friday with nothing overly exciting- we cleaned!!
Today, the kids and I headed to Staten Island for my cousin Ann's graduation party.
Ann graduated from my alma mater, SJU, a few weeks ago and today we celebrated her accomplishment!
It was a gorgeous day out and we had a nice time spending the day with family!
Congratulations Ann!

Nicholas got a hold of the camera for a bit today. He did a really great job shooting some of these photos!! See if you can tell which ones!
