I Just Had to Share...

So, as you can read below Addison went for her 3 month check up last week and weighed in just over 11 pounds! Well, we had to go back today to catch her up on her vaccines and also have her Pepcid re-evaluated so she was weighed and she's now coming in well over 12 pounds!! Our little porker has gained over a pound in one week!! I was shocked...so much so that I had to call my parents and my cousin who are both on vacation in Mexico! And of course, I had to share with everyone else on here, too!!

Pudding Paradise

How could I resist posting this picture that Pat took with his cellphone??!?! We were at Grandma and Pop-pop's house today to spend some time with them before they leave for Mexico. (My cousin Jamie is getting married in Puerto Vallarta- yup where the Love Boat docks!) So after dinner Nicholas requested Strawberries and Chocolate pudding. He likes to dip his strawberries in the pudding, quite the connoisseur. As you can see from the this shot, Nicholas ran out of strawberries and realized his hand was the next best thing!

It's Good!

Well, Nicholas is asleep and Daddy is at work so it was time for a little Mommy and Me "adventure"!
The past few bathtimes have been "difficult" because Addie has not enjoyed them at all! We were worried that she was going through a scary bathtime phase which makes it very difficult to bathe her because it's so sad when she screams bloody murder! ;)
Luckily, tonight Addison seemed to really enjoy her bathtime just like the old times. She even gave me a smile or two while we scrubbed her down! While, yes, she enjoyed her time in the water...the moments afterwards while I was lotioning her up were filled with screams of what only could be construed as pain! Of course it was not pain but rather just an extreme need to either be held or put back in the tub!

Lazy Saturday continued...

After the park, Nicholas had a McDonald's treat and then we headed home and blew up our new pool!! Nicholas LOVED playing in the pool and even decided that Mommy clearly was not filling it up correctly and took that task upon himself! He also got some air time on Daddy's legs and started learning to breathe under water by blowing bubbles all on his own! It was definitely a fun filled day and we never had the opportunity to get the little man down for his nap, Nicholas that is! ;) So, lucky for Mommy and Daddy Nicholas was put to bed early tonight giving us a little bit of a break from the endless energy that our eldest child seems to possess!!

Lazy Saturday

The title for this blog is quite deceiving....our Saturday really was kind of far from lazy. We woke up this morning and had some delicious bacon and eggs for a VERY BELATED father's day. Pat then went to clean out the garage and change the oil in his motorcycle. During his time in the garage he located a toy workshop that Aunt Jessica gave Nicholas for Christmas and of course we just HAD to set it up in the kitchen!!
Then we headed out to the park for a bit to burn off some energy. Nicholas and Daddy had a lot of fun playing on all of the playground equipment while Addie and I hung out in shade!

The Stats and some Frog Boots!

Well, our little peanut is really no longer our little peanut! Addison had her 3 month checkup today and is doing really well! She is still on her Pepcid, just and increased dose. She is now weighing 11 lbs. 13 oz, up from her 5.5 lb birthweight! And she is 22 1/2 inches long...she's grown 4.5 inches since she was born! I could not believe how much she's grown...she is still in the lower percentiles but it doesn't even matter because she is just looking so fabulously healthy and has come so far from her preemie status!
I wasn't able to snag any shots of her but I did catch a few of Nicholas as we were heading out into the rain on the way to Grandma's. Today was the first day he was able to wear his new Frog Rain boots some place other than the living room!!

It's Raining Here...

It is POURING rain here...thunderstorms and all and while, yes, we still have power, I thought it was a good opportunity to snap a few shots of Addison. Pat went outside in the torrential downpour to move his car into the driveway and while he was out there Addie was "talking" up a storm and slightly approaching giggling! My favorite picture is the top one...her surprised/shocked look...aka the flash was WAY too bright!
Stay tuned, tomorrow we head down to the pediatrician and we are all curious to see how far our little preemie has come!! Plus, Aunt Kelly is coming to visit, YAY!

Birthday Party Bash!

Yesterday was our friend and neighbor, Josh's, birthday so we decided to head out on the town! Grandma and Pop pop very very graciously offered to watch Nicholas and Addison, which we are unendingly grateful for!!
The four of us headed out to dinner at the Thirsty Moose, a bar/restaurant near us, and the food was delicious- as were the drinks! It was definitely a lot of fun and something we should absolutely do more than just on birthdays!

Baby Hartman is HERE!

We are so excited to welcome Jamison Marie Hartman to our family! My best friend Megan and her husband George welcomed Jamison this morning at 3:11. Jamison, named after her grandma, weighs 7lbs 11oz and is roughly 21 inches long. I just hung up the phone with Mommy and while she is definitely tired you can absolutely tell she is so excited to have her little princess! Welcome Jamison, we can't wait to meet you, and we hope Mommy is getting plenty of rest and kisses!!
CONGRATULATIONS!!

Lotion

As with any story involving Nicholas there has to be some back story. So, as many of you know, Nicholas has some seriously bad eczema and we're pretty sure it's brought on by food allergies. We don't know what kind but we're getting there. So anyway! We routinely lotion Nicholas up so as to alleviate some of the dryness. Nicholas doesn't always like it though. Although, there are days every now and then when he will ask for it!
I left for church this morning and left our two children in the very capable hands of their father. I ran a few errands after church and then headed home. I unpacked my grocery bags and then Pat told me to take a look in the bathroom sink. I looked and all I saw was what looked like an exploded tube of balmex, nothing much, I figured someone had stepped on it...no big deal! Then my wonderful husband hands me the camera and then I see these two pictures to the right. Apparently, Nicholas decided he needed to lotion himself up and did so with a brand new tube of balmex! It's quite funny! This child has had an affinity for diaper rash ointments since he was a tiny baby. Last year he took a tube of A & D ointment and sucked on it before playing with it during naptime! He is quite the handful! But a fun one at that!!

Tropical Playmat Mania!

Over the past few weeks Addison has grown to love her tropical playmat which was a gift from my Aunt Kathy, Uncle Peter and Grandmother. Thanks! She doesn't necessarily like tummy time, regardless of where it is, but she does enjoy playing with the tropical creatures that are suspended from the foam "poles". She looks in the mirror and coos at herself, it's quite cute and it's a great way to pass the time in the evening, which is when she really enjoys being on the mat!

Prunes are good for the Soul.....and constipation too!

So our sweet child has been constipated lately due to her extra thick formula and the rice cereal she's been eating as of late. What I found was that the pears we tried made her normal gassiness even worse so Grandma suggested we try some prunes. I took this morning as an opportunity to do that! (FYI-Daddy is out playing golf and when he gets home Mommy is going out so there will be a nice surprise for him in Addie's diaper!)
Here are a few shots of the prune experience. One shot before any prunes have been introduced to Addison and then two of the prune massacre and then finally her "Power to the People" post prunes pose! (That's alliteration if I've ever seen it!!) I still cannot get over the fact that this chubby little baby is our scrawny little preemie from just a few weeks ago! We're so happy she's fattening up! :)
We hope everyone enjoys their weekend...I know Daddy will be "enjoying" this afternoon! :)

Our Pool Boy

Nicholas is battling a pretty yucky cold and really just wanted to lay around yesterday. But when Daddy got home early from work, he jumped at the chance to take Nicholas outside and play in the pool. Apprently, a pool, a hose, and a easy to squeeze hose nozzle will cure any cold!

Big Brotherly Love

Today was a LONG day, a VERY LONG day! Nicholas was in rare form today and learned the finer points of trying to escape a time out. So, it was a very pleasant surprise when 5:30 rolled around and Nicholas was begging to hold Addison. Finally, in the hopes of saving my sanity, I sat him on the couch and placed Addie in a somewhat safe and comfortable position. Luckily, my camera was nearby and I was able to capture a few really cute shots before it all collapsed!
Lucky for Daddy Nicholas was pure sugar when I went out tonight! (That's only because he got it all out on me!)

Sleeping Beauty

I was having trouble getting Addison to take a nap this morning and I really needed to get some stuff done in
the kitchen. I decided, since she wouldn't sleep in her glider or on her back in the bassinet, that I was going to bring the bassinet into the kitchen and let her sleep on her tummy while I was cooking and baking. It worked like a charm and I couldn't resist snapping a few!
