We headed to the pediatrician today for some Flu shots. I was actually trying to put them off for as long as possible in the hopes of the kids not having to get them at all! No such luck! In addition to needing a Flu Shot, Addison also needed her 18 month checkup. (For all of you who are counting, she's 21 months! We're a little behind!)
Addie did GREAT! She's 27 pounds now, and believe me my back feels it! She's also just over 32 inches tall! And her head, not surprisingly, is right around the 95 percentile! The doctor was really happy with Addie's growth and also loved that she eats anything and everything under the sun! Dr. Julie was also impressed and thrilled with our little girl's potty progress (we're just beginning but she's getting there!) and Addie's vocabulary!! Dr. Julie told us that Addison has the vocabulary of a three year old, and I can absolutely attest to her extensive word usage and incredible usage of full sentences!!
It has been incredible to see the differences between Nicholas and Addison. Addison is so completely different from how Nicholas was at her age and there are so many reasons for that! We talked for awhile about Addie's development and her early entrance into what can only be termed the Torrential Twos!! Nicholas never really went through the Terrible Twos- he had too many other things going on. Now, with Addison we are getting an extra big, extra special dose of it! Most days end in laughing about her escapades but some of them can be quite off the wall! Luckily, according to Dr. Julie, Addie entered into this stage early and at full force so it's a pretty good chance that she'll exit out of it pretty quickly. I'm counting on that!!
All in all, it was a great visit- except for those 4 shots for Addie and 1 for Nicholas! The kids look great and we don't have to take Addison back until her 3 year old check up because she's doing so well!! We are so grateful for healthy and happy kids and wonderful doctors like Dr. Julie!
Unfortunately, I didn't have my camera with me so I took this picture of Addie with my phone while she was eating dessert at grandma and pop-pop's.
