MDW 2008 Continues

Our Memorial Day Weekend continued with a BBQ with friends at our house yesterday. It was really a wonderful time full of lots of food, fun and friendship. The kids enjoyed themselves in the pool for part of the day and then even went out on a walk with the men. There were quite a few games of washers which is like horseshoes except with washers. It was fun! As the day wound down into the evening we gathered around the fire, made some s'mores and enjoyed more of each other's company.
It was really a nice day and a great way to welcome in Summer. We are very lucky to have the friends we have as well as the freedom we enjoy each day. While we may celebrate with BBQs and parties all weekend, it is important to stop and remember the reason for this weekend and this holiday. We are grateful to all who serve and who have served our country and given their lives, both literally and figuratively, to protect the freedoms we hold so dear!
Happy Memorial Day!

The Georges

We tried to find Nicholas for this one to make it all the men but I'm pretty sure he was still involved in his extended game of Hide and Seek

Enjoying the freezing cold pool.
Notice Addison is not IN the pool.
She was quite smart and avoided the frigid waters.Tommy making his way through the "brush"

We attempted to contain the kids, briefly.
This did not work for long.

Nicholas doing a great job filling the pool

Prepping for the walk
These two children were EXHAUSTED and fought sleep the whole way!

Addie learning to "fly"

You can't see it in this shot but he is 4 shades of blue from the water!
A great picture by Sue.

I'm sure that Paul and Pat are deep in conversation about their Washers strategy

What a Crew!
Would you trust them with your children?!?
