The President's Day Break is really only halfway over and so far it's been lots of fun and quite busy!!
My break started on Friday with an unexpected canceling of school. We had some pretty severe winds around here on Thursday and they did a good amount of damage to the school where I teach. As a result, we were evacuated on Thursday afternoon and closed on Friday! It was quite the welcome day off! I was able to run a bunch of errands and prepare the for days and festivities to come!
Friday night, Pat and I celebrated Valentine's Day in style at a nearby hotel. They were running a special for the holiday and it was just too good to pass up! We spent the evening, had a fabulous dinner, spent some time with friends who were also there and then woke up to a delicious breakfast!
Saturday, Pat had to work so it was just the kids and I at home and we spent the day getting ready for our Valentine's Night Party with friends. We cleaned and cooked and baked and by the time our guests arrived we were ready to have a lovely evening of food and fun.
Today, was the highlight of the weekend- Nicholas' 4th Birthday Party!!! Nicholas invited a whole bunch of his friends and cousins to a local indoor playground for the afternoon. He had a ton of fun eating pizza and cake and running around with all of the other kids and his dad and uncle for a few hours this afternoon. We had a great time watching him enjoy himself thoroughly!!
After the party out of the house we moved the party home! Our family and friends came back to the house for some more adult food and fun. Nicholas had a chance to open his presents and play with his cousins. It was a nice chance for all of the adults to catch up and relax with one another and enjoy watching the kids play with one another!
All in all, while it's been a busy break so far it has been a wonderfully fun one, as well!! We still have two days to go and I can only hope the fun continues!!
Enjoy the pictures!!
This greeted us in our room when we arrived at the hotel!
