Big Time Big Girl Bed!!

For almost two years Addison has been in a toddler bed and we decided about 3 months ago that it was really time for her to be in a REAL big girl bed.  My mom and I took Addie out shopping and Addison (and mommy and grandma) picked out a really nice daybed with a trundle for Addison to move into.  Her new bed was delivered today!!  Addie, and Nicholas, is SO EXCITED to sleep in her brand new bed tonight and on her "Princess and the Frog" sheets!!

A Sunny Saturday in Spring!

Today was a nice and lazy Saturday!
Pat had to work late so we had the morning at home and we were able to sleep in.  Then in the afternoon, the kids and I headed out into the brisk sunshine to run some errands.  We grabbed some lunch and took it over to the park where we ate and the kids played for a bit.
Our afternoon ended with Addie getting new bedding for her new big girl bed that is coming next week!!
All in all it was a lovely Saturday and we're looking forward to many more just like it this Spring!

Springtime Sundays

We spent a ton of time outside on Sunday.
The kids had swimming in the morning and we then spent a lot of the early afternoon outside!
It was perfect weather and they had an awesome time drawing, playing basketball and blowing bubbles!
Hopefully, there will be many more Springtime Sundays to come!

Happy 3rd Birthday!!!

Our little princess Addison turned 3 yesterday!!
It's hard to believe that only 3 years ago Addie joined our family...it feels like she has been here forever (In the most wonderful way, of course)!!!
We celebrated Addie's birthday with the Mr. Ray concert and then headed over to grandma and pop-pop's for the afternoon!  Aunt Jessica came over and we had time to play outside and enjoy lots of food and eventually cake and presents, too!  Addie had a great time and really enjoyed celebrating her special day!

Mr. Ray

We took the kids to see the Mr. Ray show in Morristown today with our friends Dan, Holly and their little guy Logan!
Nicholas and Addison had an awesome time dancing around and singing with Mr. Ray.  Addie even got to go up on stage and sing a little diddy for everyone!!
Mr. Ray is probably one of my favorite kids' artists.  His music is great for kids but has an awesome beat for parents too, plus he covers some Beatles and Springsteen songs!!  Definitely a must see for kids of all ages!!

Waiting For the Show to Start!

Searching For Sun

We've been inundated with rain this weekend and while a rainy weekend is sometimes really nice and enjoyable, sometimes it leaves us hoping and searching for sun!
Yesterday I took the kids to have their Easter photos taken and they came out adorable!  I'll have to scan a few shots to share.  We enjoyed some lunch out and then came home and relaxed for the rest of the afternoon and evening!
Today, after I attended a Brunch Banquet celebrating the Basketball team I met Pat and the kids at Grandma and Pop-pop's.  The kids and I stayed for dinner and had a lot of fun playing and making a magic wand just for our princess, Addie!
These are just some random shots from the day.  I've been trying out my new camera and I'm finding that each time I take it out I learn something new and the shots get a little bit better!!

5 And So Much Fun!

With Nicholas turning 5 just a few weeks ago, we knew it was time to get him all settled for Kindergarten and in for his 5 year old checkup!

Who knew I'd do them on the same day!?

During my lunch hour today I headed over to Sacred Heart School, just a few minutes from where I'm currently teaching, and registered Nicholas for Kindergarten!  I can't believe we have a child going into Kindergarten, but we do!!  I also registered Addison for pre-k!!  UNBELIEVABLE!!

After work today, I took the kids in to see the pediatrician for Nicholas' 5 year old physical.  He is doing much much better than last week.  It appears that we were able to keep the pneumonia that was brewing at bay and his lungs are sounding 100% better! GREAT NEWS!

He weighed in at 43 pounds and stands tall at 42 and 1/4 inches!  In the past year he's grown over 2 inches!!

Developmentally he is doing awesome and the doctor was quite pleased with everything she saw!

We have to add one more specialist into our doctor repertoire, a pulmonologist.  Nicholas has some pretty bad asthma and our doctor wants to make sure that we stay on top of it and keep him nice and healthy since the asthma can allow for the pneumonia to return!

We ended the visit with one shot- we have to go back for one more- and a sticker!

All in all, a GREAT visit and we're all ready for Kindergarten in the fall!!!

Super Duper Sunday

Our busy weekend continued today!
Our Sunday started off with swimming lessons- which the kids were THRILLED to be back into! From there we spent some "free time" at the gym and then headed home to get ready for our playdate.  Today's playdate was at Expresso Yourself where the kids were able to pick out pottery pieces to paint and then they will be fired and glazed.  Nicholas and Addison enjoyed painting and meeting the other kids while I had a nice time taking photos and meeting some more moms!!
After our creative playdate we headed home for lunch with daddy and promptly took out the bikes and helmets to take advantage of the gorgeous weather!!  Nicholas and Addison enjoyed riding up and down the street by themselves and then with some other kids in the neighborhood, we even got to see Aunt Meaghan for a bit, too!!
All in all, by 4pm everyone had been tired out and daddy headed to work.  We're spending the remainder of our busy busy weekend relaxing and straightening up a bit!  All the mess and all the tired was well worth it for all of the fun we've had all weekend!!

Happy Birthday Surprise #2!!!

We spent the afternoon getting ready for ANOTHER surprise party!
Tonight I helped to throw a surprise party for one of my best friends, Heather.  Heather also turned 30 this year and her sisters-in-law and I decided that we wanted to celebrate Heather and her big birthday with a surprise party!
We did a much better job of hiding the surprise than I did with Pat's birthday, but we still had just as great of time!!
Happy Birthday Heather!!

Waiting for the Surprise!
