Over the past few weeks Addison has grown to love her tropical playmat which was a gift from my Aunt Kathy, Uncle Peter and Grandmother. Thanks! She doesn't necessarily like tummy time, regardless of where it is, but she does enjoy playing with the tropical creatures that are suspended from the foam "poles". She looks in the mirror and coos at herself, it's quite cute and it's a great way to pass the time in the evening, which is when she really enjoys being on the mat!

Prunes are good for the Soul.....and constipation too!
So our sweet child has been constipated lately due to her extra thick formula and the rice cereal she's been eating as of late. What I found was that the pears we tried made her normal gassiness even worse so Grandma suggested we try some prunes. I took this morning as an opportunity to do that! (FYI-Daddy is out playing golf and when he gets home Mommy is going out so there will be a nice surprise for him in Addie's diaper!)
Here are a few shots of the prune experience. One shot before any prunes have been introduced to Addison and then two of the prune massacre and then finally her "Power to the People" post prunes pose! (That's alliteration if I've ever seen it!!) I still cannot get over the fact that this chubby little baby is our scrawny little preemie from just a few weeks ago! We're so happy she's fattening up! :)
We hope everyone enjoys their weekend...I know Daddy will be "enjoying" this afternoon! :)

Our Pool Boy
Nicholas is battling a pretty yucky cold and really just wanted to lay around yesterday. But when Daddy got home early from work, he jumped at the chance to take Nicholas outside and play in the pool. Apprently, a pool, a hose, and a easy to squeeze hose nozzle will cure any cold!

Big Brotherly Love
Today was a LONG day, a VERY LONG day! Nicholas was in rare form today and learned the finer points of trying to escape a time out. So, it was a very pleasant surprise when 5:30 rolled around and Nicholas was begging to hold Addison. Finally, in the hopes of saving my sanity, I sat him on the couch and placed Addie in a somewhat safe and comfortable position. Luckily, my camera was nearby and I was able to capture a few really cute shots before it all collapsed!
Lucky for Daddy Nicholas was pure sugar when I went out tonight! (That's only because he got it all out on me!)

Sleeping Beauty
I was having trouble getting Addison to take a nap this morning and I really needed to get some stuff done in
the kitchen. I decided, since she wouldn't sleep in her glider or on her back in the bassinet, that I was going to bring the bassinet into the kitchen and let her sleep on her tummy while I was cooking and baking. It worked like a charm and I couldn't resist snapping a few!

Saturday Night Smiles
We were hanging out tonight and I decided to break out the camera and take a few shots. Luckily, Pat was able to catch a few smiles squeaking out on Addison's chubby little face! I can only imagine what she's thinking in a few of these pictures!I also included a shot of Addie
resting quite comfortably on her daddy!

Sprinklers, Baths and Bumbo Time
So Nicholas had his one year checkup today from his ear surgery last year. I can't believe it's been a year already! He did great except for a GIANT load of wax blocking his one tube but that was easily taken care of! Since he did so well Grandma and I took him to Friendly's and then back to grandma and grandpa's house for some sprinkler fun! He's been more of a pool kid lately but he seemed to really enjoy the sprinkler.
I also included a few shots of Addie's evening bath last night...I just love the way the bath calms her! The Bumbo on the other hand seems to only incite her!!

Indoor Pool
Yes, that's right our 2 year old son has his very own indoor pool! We headed to grandma and grandpa's this afternoon to hang out for a bit. Nicholas was able to enjoy his pool that was a gift from Aunt Kelly. It was great, we blew up the pool, put it on the porch and got hang around while Nicholas gleefully played with his toys and enjoyed the water!!

Addison's New Buddy!

Mommy and Addison headed next door the other day to visit Addie's newest friend, Dagney. Dagney's daddy took this picture of two mommies who both need a vacation! I think the dads should step in and send Addie's mommy and Dagney's mommy to Hawaii....or maybe just the shore for a day or two!!
Welcome to the block, Dagney....we're excited to have you here!!

Memorial Day Madness
Memorial Day is upon us and we've been making the rounds this weekend, visiting friends and hanging out! Yesterday we went down to Uncle Geoff and Aunt Jen's house in Brick for a bbq. Uncle Geoff and Daddy set up the kiddie pool in the backyard which was a huge hit with Nicholas as well as Mommy and Aunt Jen. Addie even took a dip, briefly!
Uncle Geoff and Aunt Jen have a little boy who is 3 weeks older than Addison, Tommy. We had a nice time hanging out and catching up and we were even able to grab one picture of the babies together!

Tummy Time Gone Bad
We've been using our Boppy to help Addison get in some much needed tummy time. Here, though, is tummy time gone bad. Addie fell right asleep as soon as we put her on her tummy! I couldn't resist snapping a shot!
Our friends Josh and Jenn came over with their new little girl, Dagney, for dinner tonight and they brought Nicholas (and mommy too) a present! Nicholas got a great hat that reads "Big Brother, aka THE BOSS!" Mommy was given a very nice picture frame with a poem about Mommy's little girl. Thanks Josh and Jenn and we love spending time with Dagney! She's changed so much already!
Nicholas asked to hold Addison tonight. It is a rare occasion when big brother begs to get near baby sister so we seized the moment and had daddy help Nicholas hold Addie for a few brief moments!

Back to the Beach!
We headed back down the shore today for the day! We had much much better weather today than the last time. The sun was shining and there wasn't a single cloud in the sky!! We hung out on the sand and under the umbrella. Nicholas got a little taste of the water, which was FREEZING, and then went back to digging in the sand and making octopuses. After spending tons of time in the sun, the tide started coming in and brought with it the cool, if not cold, ocean breeze. We called it a day at that point and headed to Kelly's bar where Nicholas enjoyed a big Kiddie Guinness aka Cranberry Juice and a devoured a grilled cheese. He promptly konked out in the car as we headed home!! It was a good time although Mommy refused the sunscreen and slightly regrets it now! As you can see Nicholas could be the Mott's spokeschild!
