November Snow

We're in the midst of our first real snowstorm here and the kids are in school....not such a bad place for them to be!  :)
Addie had a great time catching snowflakes while waiting for the bus this morning so I grabbed my camera and snapped a few pictures as we waited and the snow fell.
It looks so pretty coming down and I'm really looking forward to tonight when the Christmas lights come on outside and the snow is falling.

Thanksgiving 2012

Here are the pictures from Turkey Day 2012!
There aren't too many because we were all pretty busy cooking (mainly grandma) and watching the parade and eating!
The girls, primarily Carrington, were pretty sick for the day but they enjoyed tons of food and lots of playtime.

1792 & 1793

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
We are at grandma and pop-pop's now prepping and starting our turkey day eating!
This morning, though, Nicholas and I headed into Morristown to run in their annual Turkey Trot to benefit the Interfaith Faith Food Pantry. This was Nicholas' first 5k and it was both of ours first Turkey Trot!
Nicholas did AWESOME and he's already looking forward to next year and lots more racing!!
We can't wait to frame his first race bib and number! We are so proud of our boy and his newfound love of running.

Happy FeastGiving

Today was Addison's Feast at school and luckily, I was able to go and see her and all of her Kindergarten classmates in their Pilgrim and American Indian glory!
Addie was not feeling well today, actually all week, but she was so excited to be able to go to the feast and she didn't have a fever that I sent her to school.
The kids dressed up and played games, made crafts and feasted on applesauce, chicken nuggets, tater tots and apple juice.  You know, typical Thanksgiving fare!
It was so nice to get to see Addie with all of her friends enjoying herself and her classmates!

We'd like to take this opportunity to wish everyone a very Happy Thanksgiving!
We hope that you day is full of many blessings, family, friends and delicious food!

Happy Thanksgiving!

School Pictures

Just a quick post to show off our cute kids...not that every post doesn't do that.  But, here are Nicholas and Addison's school photos from this year.
I can't believe how grown up Nicholas looks. And how much I can easily fast forward 11 years from now and see Addison standing in this exact same pose.....

Fun Times in the Fall and Finally Halloween!

We are back home after 10 days spent with Grandma and Pop-pop.  We could not be more grateful for the time that we spent with Grandma and Pop-pop.  We are incredibly blessed to have such great family who was so willing to take us in.  I cannot imagine what it would have been like had we not been able to stay with them.  It was cold last week!  I can't help but think of all of those families who are still without power or even worse, without a home!  Another thing to be incredibly grateful for this Thanksgiving!
If anyone is interested in donating to the cause down the shore please let me know!  I've been working with a few individuals on getting items down there, specifically to a Fire Department that is distributing things and also with an organization that is working on Thanksgiving meals for families who were either displaced or cannot afford to do a dinner this year.

On a bit happier note, I have some pictures from pumpkin picking a few weeks ago as well as pictures from Halloween, which we only just celebrated today!  Due to the storm and lots of dangerous areas, Halloween was postponed.  Rockaway, our town, celebrated it on Monday but we weren't home.  Chatham, celebrated it tonight so Michelle and I took the kids down there and we went trick or treating!  They had a great time and finally got some use out of their costumes!!

Hurricane Sandy

We have had no power, heat or cable since Monday night. There are trees down everywhere and our street is closed due to a number of trees and wires. We are safe and sound at grandma and pop-pop's and all of our thoughts and prayers go out to those who are suffering far far worse than we are as well as all of the first responders, medical personnel, police, fire, linemen and more who left their families to help and protect ours! Thank you!
A few photos from during and after the storm!
