Random Recovery Shots

My recovery is going...slowly...but going. I went into work yesterday only to be sent home after spending a good 20 minutes over the institutional throne in the nurse's office. I opted to stay home today to make sure my recovery was on the upswing.
I was exhausted today and in a good amount of pain but nothing that some percosets and grandma couldn't help!
My mom came up today to help out with the kids, and me. I can't do much of anything since I spend the majority of my time either passed out on the couch or in a sling.
She was a HUGE help with the kids and the house...I could not have asked for more, nor did I deserve it!! The kids are sleeping and the house looks great!
While she was here I was able to snap a few shots of the kids, since I couldn't do anything else.
Most of the shots are of Addison because Nicholas absolutely refuses to pose for anything anymore!
It's quite frustrating!

Since the Christmas Tree is long gone, Addison has been discovering the large glass doors.

I think she enjoys the cold of the glass as well as the view!

This was a hard fought look at the camera!

A rare shot of the Nicholas...notice the Swiffers in the background...

He was on a break from the excessive Swiffering...
This is the end of the day and as you can see, by her subtle double fisting of the bottle and the sippy cup, it was a rough one for Addison!

On The Mend

Just short one armed post, I am on the mend. I had surgery this morning and everything went well! Hopefully, I'll be back to fighting status in a few months! ;) Thank you for all the thoughts and prayers, they are greatly appreciated!

Another Simple Saturday

We're having another simple Saturday today!
Monday is surgery day for me (Wednesday fell through because of some technicalities!) so I've been doing a little straightening up around the house and just getting things ready.
I was going through some of Nicholas' old clothes to see what I could possibly put on eBay and he decided to amuse himself with the empty plastic bin.
It kept him quiet for quite awhile!

Here is our little-big peanut right after her nap!
She certainly wakes up happy!
(Unlike her mommy OR her Daddy!)

And finally, probably one of the last shots of Addison in her exersaucer!
She has been boycotting the use of the exersaucer which is great because she's walking- sort of- and crawling everywhere but now it means we have very little means of containment!

Update

Well, no surgery for me yet. Looks like Monday should be D-Day or C-Day (get it, for cut...whatever....it's funny!). Keep your fingers crossed....

Nicholas, on the other hand, will be celebrating his Valentine's Day in the operating room. We'll celebrate his 3rd birthday on the 10th and then bring him in for surgery on the 14th. We saw his specialist yesterday and it appears that he's losing his hearing again and needs a new set of tubes. His ears have filled with fluid again and it's causing problems not only with his hearing but also with his speech. In addition to the new tubes he'll also be having his GIANT set of adenoids out and his LARGE tonsils removed. I don't know if you've ever noticed but there isn't a picture of him, for the most part, without his mouth open and his tongue partially out of his mouth. His adenoids are seriously swollen....GIANT, if you will! The doctor could not believe how bad they are! This surgery, while a lot more serious than the first tube surgery a few years ago, should do a lot more good. The first surgery did a lot of good for our little guy. This one should really alleviate just about all of his breathing and hearing problems! He is quite the little trooper!!

Addison had her 9/10 month check up today. (We're a little behind on the 9 month so we just went for a catch up!) Our peanut is peanut no more! Addison weighed in at 20 pounds 11 ounces. She's 27 inches long and her head is 18 1/4 inches around! She's on the lower percentile side for height but weight she's pushing the mid 70s! The doctor was really happy with her progress and encouraged us to continue with all the table food and sippy cups. She was also very happy that Addie has started "walking" and moving all over the place! We're pretty sure she'll be running marathons by the time her big brother turns 3!! So, a great visit overall and only one shot to boot!! Although we are heading in for some blood tests so that makes up for the lack of shots this time around! ;)

I'll have some pictures to share over the next few days!!

"Sunny" Sunday

It may be bitterly cold here, not as cold as Green Bay, but we kept nice and warm at Grandma and Pop-pop's today. After a nice, easy morning where Daddy relaxed on the couch and Nicholas shared his breakfast, I took the kids down to visit with grandma, pop-pop and Aunt Jessica. It was a nice day and the kids are currently spending the evening there since both Pat and I have to work for the holiday tomorrow and daycare is closed! :(
The kids are pretty excited!

Breakfast with Daddy

Addison learned here second word today, "Uh-oh".
Thanks for the outfit Aunt Jen and Uncle Geoff- she looks quite cute!

The typical Stella sibling picture- no one actually looking at the camera!

Doesn't he just look so handsome??

Stay Warm Everyone!

Simple Saturday

It's been a very simple Saturday around here. We did a little cleaning this morning and then Pat headed into work for the evening. I've done a little more cleaning as we all relaxed and watched some TV. Nothing too crazy!
Hopefully I'll get some more done once the little ones head to bed!
Here are a few shots from the other day and today just lounging around the house.

Shouldering

Hello all!
I just wanted to share a bit of news with everyone before it went through the "grapevine" that is our family and friends. As many of you know I was injured in the car accident that we were in back in October. I have been undergoing treatment and nothing has worked so I was told yesterday that I will be having surgery most likely next week. If not next week, hopefully the week after next. But I'm keeping my fingers crossed for next week because it is significantly easier with my job. The blog may die down for awhile but I'm thinking that I'm just going to be sitting around taking pictures of the kids so maybe it won't!
Any thoughts or prayers you can send my way for next Wednesday are greatly appreciated! Thanks!!

Standing Tall

Here they are, the first shots of the peanut standing on her "own". She's been up on her knees and and sitting up for awhile now. Just recently, she started pulling herself up on tables and toys and just tonight in her crib! Once she gets up she manages to clear everything off the table or chair that she's balancing on. She's even started cruising around the table and toys and in her crib.
I'm betting she'll be brave enough to let go and start walking away in the next few weeks!
Maybe a birthday "present" for Nicholas?
We'll see!!

Palisades Park: Take Two

Today the kids and I went up to Nyack, NY to the Palisades Park Mall with Aunt Jen and "Aunt" Maryliz (Aunt Jen's old friend and a new friend of mommy's).
The last time we tried to head to Palisades Park was the day we got into the accident so today was infinitely better!!
We got tons of exercise walking the HUGE mall for hours on end and also got some great deals in the after the holidays sales!!
We took a break in the middle for some delicious Mexican food at Chevy's where Addison had a a few more firsts!
She had her first taste of refried beans and guacamole and LOVED both of them!
She is quite the connoisseur!

Here we are outside the Lego store.
Nicholas was wonderfully behaved today so he was rewarded with a Lego ambulance which entertained him during lunch!

Those are some delicious refried beans on her face!

Tommy enjoying his lunch!

If you look closely you can see some guacamole that has joined the beans

I can't believe they are BOTH looking at the camera at the same time!

Tommy on Aunt Maryliz's lap
(FYI- she was AMAZING with the kids today! I am SO GRATEFUL!!)

Happy New Year

Welcome to 2008 everyone!
We're so glad that you're here with us and keeping in touch via the blog.
We welcomed in 2008 in grand fashion at home with the kids and our closest friends.
Uncle Geoff and Aunt Jen came over last night, sans Tommy their big bundle.
We celebrated with tons of food and drink and lots of laughs and pictures!
It was the perfect way to welcome a brand new year and fresh start!
Today, we spent the day at grandma and pop-pop's with Aunt Jessica and more food and more fun!
Here are a bunch of pictures from last night and today!

Pre-"party" smiles They're not matching on purpose, but it does look cute!

Now, if I could just get them to smile!

Daddy and Daughter

We were attempting to let him stay up to see the ball drop and bang some pots and pans.
No such luck!

Not the best picture, but "cute" enough!

The Happy Couple
This picture took forever to happen Apparently, husbands and cameras don't always go together!

Geoff got to keep those just for himself for the rest of the night!
Happy New Year!
